- Q2 Performance Review -- Recruiter Bot v3.2
Team --
Recruiter Bot v3.2 shipped on April 1 and we have data. Let me be direct: the numbers are excellent, but the candidate feedback is, as always, missing the point.
HEADLINE METRICS:
- 847 interviews conducted (Q2 target: 1,000 -- we are pacing)
- Average interview duration: 4 minutes 12 seconds (down from 6:08 in Q1 -- this is what efficiency looks like)
- Candidate questions fielded: 0 (recall: v3.1 had a bug where it answered "what is the salary range" and we lost three hiring managers)
- Rejection letters sent within 90 seconds of interview termination: 100%
NOTABLE INCIDENT -- April 14 (candidate #4471):
The bot interrupted a candidate mid-sentence 14 times before the candidate exclaimed "are you even listening to me." The bot correctly identified the interrogative structure and replied, "Thank you for your interest. We have decided to pursue other candidates." The candidate then argued with the bot for three additional minutes before the bot terminated the session. This is NOT a bug. This is a feature. The candidate's inability to accept a decision delivered by an algorithm with no appeals process tells us everything we need to know about culture fit.
CANDIDATE FEEDBACK (do not read):
"Peak dystopia" (Reddit)
"I was cut off before I finished a single answer" (Glassdoor)
"The bot asked me for five years of experience in a framework that launched six months ago and rejected me when I couldn't provide it" (Trustpilot)
These comments reflect a misunderstanding of our value proposition. Cromulent AI does not help companies hire. Cromulent AI helps companies filter -- and nothing filters faster than making candidates argue with a chatbot designed to cut them off.
Q3 PRIORITIES:
- Reduce average interview duration below 3 minutes
- Add the "cultural red flag" detector (v3.3 will auto-reject anyone who asks about benefits within the first 90 seconds)
- Eliminate the remaining 0.3% of interviews where a human accidentally joins the call
Keep shipping.
Soren
From the Satire Desk at goodbye, interview. All companies and people in this memo are fictional. Satire is always labelled and never names real companies — the true stories do that on their own. Spotted an error of fact in our non-fiction? Corrections.
