MEMORANDUM

Subject: Pre-Application Rejection System (PARS) — Q3 Launch

Team,

After six quarters of declining candidate experience scores and a Glassdoor rating that I am told we have stopped monitoring, the data is unambiguous: our current rejection pipeline is too slow.

Consider the typical candidate journey. They find our listing. They spend forty-five minutes tailoring a resume. They draft a cover letter. They complete a Workday form that asks them to re-enter every line of the resume they just uploaded. Then — and only then — do we reject them. The lag between application and rejection exposes us to needless overhead: server costs, ATS licence fees per processed record, and the reputational risk of a candidate feeling they were actually considered.

PARS solves this. By ingesting public digital signals — LinkedIn profile completeness scores, GitHub commit frequency, the sentiment polarity of a candidate's last three tweets, and a proprietary "Cultural Vibration Index" derived from their Spotify Wrapped — PARS issues a rejection before the candidate begins the application. In early trials, 94% of pre-rejected candidates reported feeling "relieved" that we did not waste their time, and 6% never noticed because they were already rejected by a different instance of our own software running at a competitor.

Implementation timeline:

- Phase 1: PARS processes anyone who clicks "Apply." Rejection issued within 400 milliseconds.

- Phase 2: PARS monitors job-board search behaviour. Candidates who hover over a Cromulent AI listing for more than 2.7 seconds receive a pre-emptive rejection to their inferred email address.

- Phase 3: Passive candidates. College freshmen. Infants with promising social security numbers.

We expect PARS to reduce our time-to-rejection from 18 days to negative 3.4 years. Talent Acquisition will be restructured into a single Slack channel monitored by an intern. Employer Branding is asked to prepare a LinkedIn post with the word "humbled."

This is the future of hiring. The future is efficient. The future rejects you in advance.
