INTERNAL MEMO: Candidate Authenticity Verification Protocol v2.4
- FROM
- Talent Operations, Cromulent AI\nTO: All Hiring Managers and Interview Panels\nRE: Updated Candidate Authenticity Verification Protocol (CAVP) v2.4\n\nEffective immediately, all candidates advancing past the initial screen will be subject to the following multi-modal integrity assessment, replacing the now-deprecated "trust your gut" methodology:\n\nPHASE 1 — COGNITIVE BASELINE (15 min)\nCandidates will complete our proprietary BubblePop Assessment, a gamified evaluation in which they tap floating emoji faces while a neural network analyses their hesitation patterns. Candidates who score below the 92nd percentile will be flagged as "cognitively misaligned." Note: the assessment has no documented correlation with job performance. That is not the point.\n\nPHASE 2 — ENVIRONMENTAL INTEGRITY SWEEP\nDuring all remote interviews, our ScreenMirror engine will monitor the candidate's display for unauthorised browser tabs, chatbot windows, and second-screen activity. A single flicker of any non-approved application will trigger an automatic session termination and a permanent "AI-Assisted" flag on the candidate's profile — regardless of whether the candidate was, in fact, using AI assistance. False positives are an acceptable trade-off for deterrence.\n\nPHASE 3 — TRANSPORTATION COMPLIANCE CHECK\nFor on-site interviews, building security footage will be reviewed to determine the candidate's mode of arrival. Candidates arriving via public transit, ride-share, or on foot will have their application annotated with a "Logistical Reliability Concern." A dedicated parking space has been reserved for candidates who drive — please inform them of this expectation during the scheduling call.\n\nPHASE 4 — OFFER CALIBRATION\nAll offers will be benchmarked against our proprietary "What's the Least They'll Take" algorithm, which cross-references the candidate's current salary (if known), Glassdoor self-reports, and aggregate desperation signals from their browsing behaviour. Offers will be presented as "final and non-negotiable" with a 24-hour acceptance window.\n\nQuestions? Please direct them to the #talent-ops Slack channel, where they will be acknowledged with a thumbs-up emoji and never addressed.\n\n— Cromulent AI Talent Operations\n\nInspired by recent absurdities in candidate screening, AI-detection overreach, and offer games documented across r/recruitinghell.
From the Satire Desk at goodbye, interview. All companies and people in this memo are fictional. Satire is always labelled and never names real companies — the true stories do that on their own. Spotted an error of fact in our non-fiction? Corrections.
