Q3 Deployment of the Automated Candidate Empathy Module — Version 2.4

MEMORANDUM

DATE: July 20, 2026

Following the Q2 retrospective — in which our Net Promoter Score among rejected candidates reached a historic low of minus-forty-seven — the Candidate Experience Optimisation Division is pleased to announce the Q3 rollout of the Automated Candidate Empathy Module (ACEM), effective August 1.

WHAT ACEM v2.4 DELIVERS

Personalised Rejection Tone Calibration. The module selects from a library of seventeen empathy registers, ranging from "Casually Warm But Not Presumptuous" (Register 4) to "We Genuinely Mean It When We Say We’ll Keep Your Resume On File" (Register 12). Register 12 has a 4 percent plausibility rating and is not recommended for candidates who made it past the third round.

Temporal Appropriateness Engine. Rejections will be scheduled within a window that respects the candidate’s timezone AND the emotional arc of their process. A candidate who completed one phone screen receives a rejection between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. local time. A candidate who completed eight rounds and a take-home project receives a rejection no earlier than forty-eight hours after their last interaction, delivered with Register 8 ("We Acknowledge The Asymmetry Of This Situation") or higher.

Human Name Attribution. Each ACEM-generated rejection will be signed by a randomly selected member of the People Team who has never interacted with the candidate. The signature block includes a headshot, a title, and a sentence of personal reflection generated from the signatory’s Slack status at the time of sending. (Example: "I know how much effort goes into a process like this — I really do. — Janet, Senior Talent Partner, currently: ‘In back-to-backs all day’").

LIMITATIONS

ACEM v2.4 cannot, at this time, explain why the candidate was rejected. Our engineers estimate this feature will ship in Q4 2027, pending a decision on whether anyone at Cromulent AI actually knows why candidates are rejected.

Feedback on ACEM v2.4 may be submitted via the standard intake form. Please note that Register 16 ("We Are Listening") is reserved for external communications only.
