Nine months unemployed — applications, interviews, rejections, ghostingA full-time offer, then a company laptop and a first day

Nine months unemployed: applications, interviews, waiting, rejections, ghosting — hope raised by an opportunity and then, again, nothing. There were stretches, they wrote, when they wondered how much longer it could go on.

Then a full-time offer. And this week, the company laptop arrived. It was just a laptop, they admitted — but watching the logo come on made everything feel real for the first time.

Through the search they had read other people’s success posts in the same community, hoping one day to write their own. Now it was their turn — and they were careful about how they framed it. Not a story about everything magically working out, they said; they knew how hollow that rang when the next rejection email landed.

Their advice was smaller and steadier: keep giving yourself another chance. “You don’t need every company to want you. You only need one to say yes.”
