Interview — interviewer coldOffer — 2 days later

The candidate knew, from the moment they sat down, that the interviewer did not like them — the kind of read that usually ends an application quietly at the next stage. Two days later, an email arrived: 'Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you the position.'

The interview is a poor instrument for measuring whether someone can do the job. Occasionally it fails in the candidate's favour.
