ScreeningTechnical ×2ManagerFinalRejected — communication style

A job seeker on r/recruitinghell described advancing through five interview rounds for a senior role at what they called their dream company. The process was gruelling but promising: every stage returned positive feedback. Then came the rejection, attributed vaguely to communication style. The candidate moved on. But the company did not.

Within a week, the exact same senior role reappeared on LinkedIn. The candidate assumed it was a repost and ignored it. Then it appeared again the next week. And the week after that. The position, still unfilled, was being pushed out like a recurring calendar invite.

Reddit commenters were split. Some urged the candidate to reapply, noting that the original rejection could have been a hiring-freeze casualty dressed up as feedback. Others said the weekly repost pattern was a red flag: either the company had no idea what it wanted, or it was hoarding a pipeline of candidates without ever intending to close. One commenter wrote: they're not hiring. They're window-shopping.

The candidate ultimately decided not to reapply. I gave them five rounds of my time, they wrote. They've given me four weeks of clarity about how they operate.
