Seven and a half months and more than a thousand applications had produced nothing, and several processes had run past a month without an offer. Then a recruiter called on a Monday. The candidate interviewed that afternoon, had an offer the next day, countered for more money and had the counter accepted. They are onboarding now and start on Monday, still half-expecting the other outcome.
