His rule: the profile does not change until he has a new employer. He had told colleagues at his last company that this was the practice. Four weeks after he left, the page still carried his name, his title, and the old employer.
That was when he noticed the recruiters — the company's own and the agencies working for it — looking at the profile. A conversation with former colleagues explained why. The role was still open. The company had raised the package by thirty per cent and still could not fill it.
Then an applicant messaged him directly, asking what it was like to work there and what the boss was like. He answered honestly. The applicant took a job somewhere else.
The posting went back up on LinkedIn and Indeed, with a higher package. He does not want anyone else risking their integrity there.
