Ouroboros Talent Group: Hiring Loop Committee Minutes
OUROBOROS TALENT GROUP — INTERNAL
Hiring Loop Committee · Minutes · Meeting 14
Present: the committee (12)
Item 3 — Why the loop now runs to nine rounds.
The committee considered the complaint that the process has grown long. It was noted that length is a feature: each stage adds a signature, and every signature dilutes the blame if the hire goes badly. It was further noted that an interview costs an hour of staff time, whereas a reference check costs money, and that nobody has ever been dismissed for adding a round.
A member asked how a candidate is expected to sustain nine rounds. The committee agreed this was an interesting question and referred it to the candidate.
Item 4 — Proposal to shorten the loop to four stages.
Carried to Stage 7 of 9 for review.
Item 5 — Quorum.
The committee will reconvene when it can reach quorum, which requires the attendance of the member on parental leave and the member who has resigned.
