A scheduling mistake put two candidates in the same interview slot. Nobody stopped it. The manager came in, and the interview proceeded with both of them at once.

The manager and the other candidate had gone to the same university. That took most of the hour. When it came back to the questions, the other candidate repeated his answers back with small changes — the same points, reworded, credited as his own.

At the end, the company offered both of them temporary internships and said they would keep only one at the end of the trial. They suggested he train the other candidate, explaining that he had more experience. The pay, he wrote, was nowhere near what had been advertised.

He declined. They called back with a slightly improved offer. He declined again.
