Offered the Job, Then Asked About the Contract

A recent graduate received an offer letter and asked two questions before signing: whether the month of notice could flex, and whether the starting wage — at the bottom of the advertised band — could reflect their experience and the travel. Two days later the company rescinded the offer. They had thought they were being polite.
