Laid off — FridayOffer — Tuesday, 4 days laterStart pushed back to keep the two weeksPaperwork signed

Laid off on a Friday, the candidate had planned two weeks off before starting the search properly. They had barely applied to anything; the conversations they were having had mostly come from recruiters reaching out to them. By the following Tuesday there was an offer, four days after the layoff.

They asked to start after Labor Day, because they still wanted the two weeks. The paperwork was signed. The candidate's own summary of the fortnight is that they are not entirely sure what happened.
