Muskan Chauhan cleared five interview rounds, completed a case study, and attended multiple office visits for a role in Haryana. She received and signed the offer letter. She gave notice at her current job. Two days before her start date, the company emailed: the employee who was planning to leave had "decided to stay back." The offer was revoked. Chauhan posted the experience on LinkedIn, calling the hiring system "genuinely broken." The post went viral as hundreds shared similar stories of offers pulled at the last minute for reasons entirely outside the candidate's control.
