From February to October: a hundred and sixty applications. Nine interviews, six of them final rounds. In one, the interviewer failed to show up. In another, the interviewer ate their lunch while the candidate talked. Then, at the end of it, an offer — a forty-six percent increase on the last role, in a field the candidate reckoned was relatively safe from being automated away.
The tone of the post was not triumph so much as relief, and a hope that everyone still in it gets theirs soon.
