He was laid off eleven months ago. Since then he has sent roughly 1,420 applications, interviewed at 71 companies, sat 122 interview rounds, and reached 16 final rounds. The offer count is zero.

He has a master's degree and two bachelor's degrees, and more than eight years in customer success. He has worked with a career coach, gone through career counselling, and done a dozen mock interviews.

In May he changed approach: ten to fifteen tailored applications a week instead of volume. His interview rate rose to somewhere between 13 and 15 percent. The final round conversion did not move.

He did not post for advice. He wanted to know whether anyone had beaten 122 rounds.
