# Rejected after two rounds. One follow-up question. Hired.

**[WIN]** — by Remote professional · via r/recruitinghell

After two interview rounds for a remote role, the rejection email arrived. The candidate asked why. The company replied that they weren't sure the candidate could work full-time given their availability. The candidate confirmed they could. Hours later, the company sent an official offer letter. What looked like a final 'no' was actually an unresolved question nobody had thought to ask during the interview itself. Sometimes the gap between rejection and hire is a single follow-up email.
