When he asked to revise upward to S$4,000, the recruiter said the company had already locked in his original figure and he lacked the experience to justify the higher number — despite holding a WSQ Diploma, JLPT N3 Japanese certification, and a year of relevant part-time work history. He chose to attend the interview at the original salary, but told Reddit’s r/singaporejobs he would ask about ranges upfront from now on.
