At 1:30 PM, the founder texted. The final interview would be at 2 PM.

The candidate was not available at thirty minutes' notice. He asked to reschedule.

He was rejected.

Not for a wrong answer, not for a weak performance — for asking whether an interview announced half an hour in advance could happen at another time. Some processes punish the candidate for having a life. This one did it in the final round and called it a decision.
