# Cleared Six Rounds. Then the CEO Said “Supervisor” Was a Career Gap.

**[TRUE STORY]** — by Candidate · via r/jobs

He had already cleared six rounds before he reached the CEO. That last conversation ran about thirty minutes, and by his account it went well — his experience, his previous roles, the work he had done, the usual things.

Then the CEO offered a view he had not expected. He did not consider “Supervisor” a proper job designation. And his experience in the role, the CEO said, looked to him “more like a career gap.”

Six rounds in. The candidate said he understands that companies read titles differently, and that is fine. But he feels a role should be judged on the work and the responsibility someone actually carried and delivered — not on the title alone. He was already fairly sure he would not be moving ahead.

He was not posting to complain, he wrote, but so that others in a similar position might ask a recruiter, before a long process, how the company views their experience.
