# Gormless Systems Memo 2026-114: The Unpaid Audition (Revised)

**GORMLESS SYSTEMS — OFFICE OF PROCESS EXCELLENCE**

**MEMO 2026-114: THE UNPAID AUDITION (REVISED)**

Effective immediately, the hiring process at Gormless Systems is officially an audition. Unpaid, of course — payment would dilute the authenticity.

Per the revised protocol, candidates may expect:

1. **Six rounds.** A process with fewer than six rounds signals that we do not take the audition seriously. Rounds may be added at any time for dramatic tension.

2. **Portfolio work.** The candidate must bring original material, performed live, before an audience of eight different employees, none of whom is a hiring manager.

3. **Personality tests.** To be administered by colleagues who have never passed one. Standardized so that nobody passes.

4. **A compensation line that reads $55,000.** This is not a mistake. The audition is unpaid; the job is also largely unpaid; the $55,000 is for the privilege of having auditioned.

Candidates who complete all six rounds will be told they were a joy to watch, then ghosted. This is the tradition. The audition is the product. We are not hiring someone; we are hosting them.

Questions may be directed to the Office of Process Excellence, which will not answer.
