# Cadwallader & Tice — Talent Partner (Contingent Placement: Work Now, Paid If)

**[SATIRE]** — by The Satire Desk · inspired by a viral “work for free if we hire someone else” interview offer

CADWALLADER & TICE — TALENT PARTNER
Your role. Your hours. Their decision.

THE ROLE
You will join a forward-thinking team in a role we are not yet able to confirm. The role is contingent on another candidate. So are you.

THE ARRANGEMENT
While we finalize the preferred candidate, you will begin work. This is not a trial, and it is not an internship. It is a period of alignment. You will be aligned Monday to Friday, nine to five, in our office, on your own laptop, using your own software licences.

THE OTHER CANDIDATE
The other candidate is excellent. We are delighted with the other candidate. The other candidate asked whether the role was paid. We found that question revealing. We have not ruled the other candidate out.

THE HOURS
Your hours will be logged, reviewed and remembered fondly. Overtime is available and encouraged. Overtime is also unpaid, which we describe as flexible.

THE COMPENSATION
If the other candidate declines, you will be hired at the agreed salary, effective from the date you began work, minus the hours already worked. Candidates who point out that this is the same as being paid nothing are thanked for their numeracy and told the role requires attention to detail.

THE GUARANTEE
If the other candidate accepts, we will not have wasted your time, because the experience will have been invaluable. Invaluable is our most competitive benefit. It is also our only one. Candidates who ask for a reference will receive a reference confirming that they worked here, which we will issue only after the other candidate has started.

THE SMALL PRINT
Your work during the alignment period becomes our intellectual property at the moment of creation, including the parts you did before we asked. You may not discuss the arrangement with the other candidate. You may not discuss it with anyone. You may not discuss it with us.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply, interview, and then begin. The strongest applicants will begin before the interview.

— Cadwallader & Tice. We move candidates forward. Constantly. Toward the door.
